Alright, if this is what all weddings in Colorado are going to be like, I could get used to this.
I’m writing this as I sit in Memphis, Tennessee where, in my expert opinion, it’s about 1000% humidity outside and 400 degrees. Everyone here says the weather is mild for this time of year but I just can’t believe that I used to shoot weddings in this weather. Or that I even had my own wedding in this weather. Plus the fact that every time you step outside mosquitos swarm you.
But nope, not in Colorado. While there were a few raindrops at the beginning of this ceremony, the weather was otherwise absolutely GORGEOUS – as was the bride, down to her bedazzled shoes. And when it came time for the first look with these too, I just about melted, and for once it wasn’t because of the weather. I’ve seen a lot of first looks, but this one trumps them all.
I could tell that it was going to be a good one, but I couldn’t have prepared for the way they would react – the minute Michael turned around to see Torri, a huge smile spread across his face and he said “oh my gosh, I’ve missed you so much.” Mind you, it’d only been a day since they’d last seen each other – and then the tears came. He could not stop staring at her, and that remained true for the remainder of the night. Wherever Torri went, Michael’s eyes followed. And the whole day was beautiful and everything I ever could have imagined for my grand entrance into wedding photography in Colorado Springs.
So without further to do, I give you the Drew Wedding.
